About

Hello! My name is Colin and I make websites.

Whether you need help with an existing project, something built from scratch, or even an illustration for your website, I’m happy to help! Drop me a message, and we can figure it out from there.

I have been dabbling in web design, web development, and all things web-related since long before anyone thought this internet thing would work out. As a young teenager way back in the mid-90’s, I would poke away at my little Geocities websites in my single hour per day allowed at the local library. I learned HTML and CSS before I even really knew what they were called, and this was back in the days before YouTube and Google.

It was only recently that I found my way to a degree in web development to pursue it as a career path. Once I broke through that barrier between dabbling and actually programming, I found and intense passion for it and a ravenous need to learn more. Even while I was still earning my degree, I didn’t feel as though I were learning enough and ended up earning completion certificates in 3 certificates from Harvard’s computer science online courses, 2 before I graduated and 1 shortly after.

Since then I have gone on to teach myself a plethora of new skills and technologies, including React, Redux, TailwindCSS and WordPress plugin development.

In the time between playing with HTML and actually learning PHP, I spent my time as a professional artist (when I wasn’t working in some form of tech support). I did everything from illustrating book covers to coloring comics. I didn’t think there would be much overlap between web development and visual art, but I was glad to find out I was wrong. My art background gives me an innate sense of design and composition, as well as color theory and visual hierarchy.

Beyond my insatiable thirst for knowledge and itch to create wild websites, I spend my time drawing, playing with my absolute troublemaker of a cat, or playing video games that are too old to be relevant but too new to be retro.
